Engineering and motor engineering Course: NVQ 3 Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering Code: ENG0019D Duration: 0 Week Location: Work Place Start Date: Flexible/Various Interview Required: Yes Who is the course for? Apprentices who wishes to gain practical experience in Mechanical or Electrical or Fabrication and Welding and be assessed in the workplace towards an NVQ 3 award. Do I need any formal qualifications? You will have completed 8 PEO2 units. You will be required to study for a level 3 Technical certificate, and keys skills as part of your MA programme. What will I study on the course? While employed you will do Practical worwk which can be Mechanical or Electrical or Fabrication and Welding plus some theory of the practice. How is the course organised? Your employer will select suitable NVQ 3 units which you will be trained in until competent while in the work place. How will my progress be assessed? You will be assessed by your production of practical work as you gain competence, and the completion of underpinning knowledge questions. Can I gain any extra qualifications while on the course? You must pass all the qualifications writtten into your MA framework. What final qualification will I get if I am successful? NVQ 3 in the units selected by your employer. What can I do after completing this course? Advance to NVQ 4. Can I receive any financial support whilst I am studying? Financial support is available and depends on the type of qualification you are studying and whether you are a full time or a part time learner. The Education Maintainance Allowance (EMA) scheme enables eligible learners to receive up to ?30 per week for studying at College, as well as bonus payments of ?100. The Adult Learning Grant (ALG) scheme enables eligible learners (aged 19 or over) to receive up to ?30 per week for studying at College. College Learner Support Funds (LSF) are available and can provide financial support for eligible learners. Payments can be made towards travel to and from College, registered childcare, fee remission and help with course-related costs.
