Murder in Mind - Examining different aspects of murder, real and fictional Adult Literacy Certificate 20082009 Programme Code: ELERM Awarding Body: OCR Related Programme Areas: MATHS AND ENGLISH WORKSHOP SKILLS FOR LIFE Who is the programme for? The programme is suitable for anyone with an interest in the study of crime, those who enjoy crime literature and those who are considering further study in a related area. What will I study? Students will study both real murderers and their crimes, together with fictional crimes from literature and filmTV. Students will be introduced to the work of related specialists, such as criminal profilers and forensic experts, and will begin to develop analytical skills within this fascinating area. Entry to the Programme? How is it assessed? By means of a 1 hour multiple choice literacy exam, plus a course related project. Future prospects? Students can progress onto a Forensic Linguistics programme at levels 2 and 3. Students interested in higher education can also work towards entry onto the Foundation Degree in Criminal Justice.
