Course Description

This new programme is designed for students who are seeking an outlet for their entrepreneurial instincts. It will provide the knowledge and skills necessary to understand the entrepreneurial process and encourage the development of entrepreneurial characteristics. It will provide you with a range of skills and abilities, supported by a strong theoretical framework, which can be used in a business enterprise of your own, or as a member of an organisation which is seeking employees capable of acting in an entrepreneurial way. The programme is academically rigorous, yet includes a strong practical bias. It addresses a wide range of managerial, marketing and financial skills, within an entrepreneurial context. The dissertation phase of the programme would normally comprise a fully developed business plan based on a real idea which could be taken forward to a new enterprise. In undertaking this work, you will have access to expert advice and assistance, and will produce a report that also satisfies the requirements of venture capitalists considering funding for new business opportunities. Alternatively students write a dissertation on a topic of their choosing in the broad area of entrepreneurship. This requires the pursuit of significant research in order to develop the dissertation. Career Destinations Managerial posts in private sector organisations of all sizes, self-employment, business support agencies, social enterprises and consultancy firms.
