Programme description This programme is designed for those who wish to gain a thorough grounding in research methodology, as a prelude to conducting independent research in economic and social history. It covers the philosophical underpinnings of research, research design, research ethics, and both quantitative and qualitative methods. In addition, a year-long research elective provides an individually tailored programme of research supervision that is specific to your area of research interest. This MSc is fully recognised by the UK?s Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) as a core grounding for doctoral study in economic and social history.
