To check the equivalence of your qualification or experience please email: info@napier.ac.uk Course information: This Masters programme provides expert critical and technical knowledge related to the development, analysis and production of medicines, the drug industry and regulatory affairs. You will study recent trends in chemical, biological and biotechnological therapeutics and evaluate the latest technologies used in the pharmaceutical industry. You will also gain an understanding of the processes and methods used in clinical trials and the regulation of medicines. Projects such as data collection, time management, organisational skills, review and synopsis, computing and statistical analysis. The programme further aims to equip you with versatile skills in the theoretical understanding, practical execution and critical evaluation of pharmaceutical science principles to underpin your professional careers. You will study modules in: -Current Practice in Drug Development -Clinical Pharmacology -Forefront Topics in Pharmaceutical Science -Research Skills - Molecular Analysis -Biotechnology and Drug Discovery -Drug Design and Chemotherapy -Independent research project (which may be work- or industry-based) Career prospects: Successful completion of the MSc programme provides a sound platform for further study in a research setting it is anticipated that a large proportion of graduates will continue to PhD studies across the pharmaceutical and bio-molecular sciences, in worldwide academic and research institutions as a direct result of the research project experience provided by this programme. Others will opt to enter laboratory-based or research management-based and product development work in industries ranging from the big Pharmaceutical global giants to smaller developing biotech companies, contract drug testing companies and service providers to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, hospital laboratories, the NHS, local government, health and safety divisions in industry. As an overseas student, you may use any of your exit qualifications to obtain access to UK graduate employment initiatives, such as Post Study Work Visa, your first step towards gaining permanent employment in the UK.
