Course information: In this course, you ll develop business and marketing skills that relate specifically to the management of large and small scale events and festivals with an international focus. Through lectures, guest speakers and case studies, you ll develop an advanced understanding of the issues and concepts involved in the industry. You ll learn broad skills, such as formulating policy and planning for the future, as well as developing your abilities in research, time management and presentation methods. You will learn by a variety of teaching methods including lectures, tutorials, and through independent study. Trimester 1 -International Conference Management -Business Skills for Event Managers -Principles and Practices of Marketing Trimester 2 -International Festival and Event Management -Industry Project -Option Trimester 3 -Dissertation On successful completion of this programme, you are eligible to apply for the Associate (AIH) Grade of membership at the Institute of Hospitality, and following and assessment, you may also meet the requirements for the Member (MIH) Grade. Career prospects: As a graduate in festival and event management from Edinburgh, you ll be extremely popular within the industry, whether your career aspirations are local or international. You ll find yourself in demand for a variety of senior management roles in various sectors and organisations, including festival management, event management, conference management and public sector organisations.
