Course Description

As engineering systems become more complex it is increasingly difficult to show that they will operate safely for their whole life. This course addresses the problem by exposing students to the knowledge and techniques of safety engineering. It is for those from a conventional engineering background who find themselves operating in a safety related industry, and is appropriate for both young engineers in the early part of their careers and senior management. A feature of the course is that, in addition to four generic safety modules, students also take two industry specific ones, including Rail, Nuclear and Aerospace.
