Course Description

Aim This programme provides technology-specific physical layer-centric training for aspiring mobile wireless communications engineers. Emphasis is placed on co-design of the RF front-end with the baseband and DSP end in an integral systemic approach. The training programme covers topics such as real-time DSP, embedded software, signals-orientated DSP as well as mobile communications, wireless communications systems design and high-frequency design techniques. Course Content The MSc consists of a practical project of a research nature (60 CATS points) plus six modules (120 CATS points) selected from the list below to include the four compulsory modules indicated. PG Diploma students who successfully complete all taught modules will be eligible to transfer to the MSc programme during the course. Students taking the Postgraduate Certificate must pursue a programme of study equivalent to 60 CATS points with modules of their choice.
