Course Description

The aim of the Aquaculture and Development programme is to provide appropriate and flexible learning opportunities through which students can acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to establish, manage and appraise aquaculture development projects. A series of 6 foundation level topics equip you with core skills needed to understand aquatic animal biology, health, reproduction and genetics, environmental requirements and production systems. For the MSc in Aquaculture and Development, there are 3 compulsory advanced topics in Livelihoods and Aquatic Resources Management, Environmental Management and Policy, Planning and Management followed by a further 3 advanced topics and a 3-month research project.
