Course Description

This MMus in music performance programme is designed to develop your skills as a performer, musical director, composer and arranger to a music industry-leading standard. Over the course of this 12-month master’s programme, students will lead in a variety of creative, collaborative and professional settings that will develop your specialist performance skills and creative practice, while producing a significant body of original work that reflects a distinctive artistic voice.

What you will do

In the autumn term, students will take any two of the following 30-credit modules:

  • Ensemble Workshop
  • Arranging
  • Composition for Film & Other Media

In the winter term, students will take the following core 30-credit modules:

  • Principle Instrument
  • Digital Distribution & Marketing

During the summer term, students will take their 60-credit Major Project module.

Entry Requirements

Entry via second class honours degree as BMus or equivalent BA/BSc in a music discipline from a UK University, or a College-recognised equivalent international qualification or equivalent professional experience;

plus English language competency equivalent to CEFR Level C1 (7.0 overall, 6.5 in each category) if from a non majority English language speaking country. Students seeking Tier 4 sponsorship must demonstrate this via IELTS or another College-approved external test

As PG Cert curriculum varies according to modules taken, applicants will be assessed for entry in the context of their declared module choices.

Entry will also be subject to portfolio review and audition.
