Course Description

Mentoring is increasingly recognised as a vital component in obtaining improvements in the performance of executives, managers and staff - but what is mentoring, what is the role of a mentor and what is the best way to set up and support a mentoring scheme? Organisations of every size and type use mentoring. Mentoring can be found, for example, in the BBC, the Royal Mail, Shell, GP surgeries, hospital management, colleges, universities and small and medium sized enterprises (SME's). Mentoring is widely used to achieve a variety of outcomes. Eg to: Provide support to senior executives and managers Help new employees acclimatise to the working environment Provide support to isolated individuals - from women returners to board directors Promote and support changes in the culture of an organisation Provide support and a safety valve in rapidly changing environments and the use of new technologies Europa's programmes have a pre-requisite of establishing the main outcomes the company wants to achieve. The content of the workshops will be geared towards these and designed accordingly. Europa specialises in bespoke programmes that transform business performance through the development of managers and people. Our programmes are bottom-line driven, tailor made to focus development investment on enabling managers to improve business performance and get the results required. Spanning the whole organisation, working with individuals, small groups or large numbers ? Europa's programmes enable people to produce their best results ? with huge returns on investment. The sample programmes downloadable from our web site illustrate some of our ?standard? programmes. Critical to the lasting success of any Development Programme is the way in which the chosen process is managed. Europa sees this as key and ensures that there is continual client contact during the project both by the Consultants involved and also with an independent Europa Quality Director nominated for each project. Europa will clarify project objectives and relate these to the 'bottom line' wherever possible. An evaluation process is put in place to facilitate and measure the levels of learning and change that have taken place.
