Course Description

This course provides a thorough training in Medical Physics, with particular emphasis on Radiation Physics. It is accredited by the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine as meeting the requirements of the training scheme for newly-appointed Grade A Hospital Physicists. Many of the medical courses are taught by practising medical physicists from local hospitals who hold honorary appointments within the University. This programme is accredited as part of the training scheme for NHS hospital physicists. It provides an excellent grounding in medical physics with emphasis on radiation physics and its applications in diagnostic radiology, radiotherapy and nuclear medicine. A taught element from September to May is followed by a 14-week project
