Course Description

When it comes to moving a person, or any load, your body experiences a series of strains and pressures. Your spine is the main potential sufferer, and back-pain (and worse) caused by incorrect lifting techniques is responsible for more days off work than any other cause. Also, apparently minor back injuries can result in a permanent residual weakness. Summary: This course is designed explain the way the spine is constructed and works and why it is so vulnerable, to teach the theory of correct manual lifting techniques, and how to plan moves properly so as to reduce the risks. Recommended refresher after: 1 year
