Course Description

Performance Management 'Even Tiger Woods Needs Help With His Back-swing Why? Because he can't see it.' This one day course is for anyone managing the performance and appraisal employees. It looks at managing as a process that is ongoing; one that focuses on helping people develop their day-to-day performance. It will help you provide your direct reports with a chance to review and assess their progress and enable you more generally to help develop the skills and confidence of the person being appraised. This means of course giving difficult feedback, not postponing or sugar coating awkward issues and doing so efficiently, professionally and with long-term care involved. This programme works with a mixture of presentation, discussion and practical exercises, through which you will develop practical skills which are then ready to be applied. Programme outline: Giving effective feedback Seeing things from other points of view Handling difficult messages Dealing with yours and other people's feelings Setting achievable goals and expectations Dealing with difficult or tricky people Supporting other people's development Building confidence and morale Using acknowledgement and praise Setting effective boundaries Dealing with issues as they arise Knowing what to do when the goal posts change Avoiding escalating problems Tools for day-to-day Performance Management
