Course Description

Course objectives To give delegates the confidence to be able to sit down with a member of staff and address a performance issue that has not yet reached a disciplinary level. This course provides managers with a proactive approach to dealing with performance issues which may include areas such as time keeping, attitude problems or demotivated employees. Course content Understanding what tools and techniques are available to the line manager to help them manage the performance of their staff Understanding what poor performance is Understanding the importance of setting standards and communicating them Planning and preparing for a standard setting meeting Conducting a standard setting meeting Exploring the key skills used in a standard setting meeting - questioning, and listening.
