Course Description

Use this training resource to promote the transfer of learning about managing conflict for positive outcomes to the workplace, through self-assessment and action planning. How often, having completed a training course felling very positive about what you have learned, have you found that your behaviour and the outcomes you obtain have not changed very significantly? Behaviour in the workplace is more likely to change if the participants have an opportunity to formally review learning, to assess current skills and to consider what to do differently. This training activity provides an opportunity for the participants to review learning, to assess their conflict management skills and to action plan to implement their learning. Following your short introduction to the purpose of the training activity, the participants complete (or revisit) self-assessment from training activities 'Opportunity or threat?' and 'Core skills and processes for managing conflict'. They then move on, individually, to draft their learning implementation plans. In pairs, each participant works to make this plan as clear and specific as possible, before finalising their plan. You can choose to offer optional input on setting SMART objectives. The training activity ends with the participants offering each other positive feedback and sharing what they plan to do differently in future.
