Course Description

The University of Essex is one of the UK?s leading academic institutions, ranked ninth nationally for research excellence following the last Research Assessment Exercise (RAE). The School of Health and Human Sciences has an excellent reputation for the quality of our teaching, with an ever expanding range of health-related courses on offer, and our reputation for research (submitted with our Department of Sociology) is outstanding. This course is the Masters element of an ESRC-accredited pathway for our Doctoral Training Centre, so is taught across our School and our Institute for Social and Economic Research, drawing upon substantive and methodological expertise from both areas. As well as providing requisite training for our ESRC-funded students, we offer a unique opportunity for you to study within an interdisciplinary environment. This course will be of interest if you wish to pursue a career in a health-related research or employment in health-related governmental and non-governmental organisations.
