Course Description

What will you be learning? This course is aimed at people who want to become multi-skilled in a range of construction trades. During the course you will learn about the maintenance and repair of buildings in the craft areas of carpentry and joinery, bricklaying, erecting working platforms, plastering, plumbing, roof lead work, painting and decorating and health and safety. You will be assessed by practical and theory tests and you must complete a portfolio of evidence. What happens when you have finished? After you have successfully completed this course you can go onto further studies or perhaps an Apprenticehip or you can work in general maintenance and repair in a variety of construction trades. Tuition Fee: ?1155 Exam & Registration Fee: ?131 You may not have to pay this tuition fee if: You are unemployed and in receipt of Jobseekers Allowance (contribution-based) You are in receipt of, or are an un-waged dependent of someone currently in receipt of any of the following income-based benefits: Income-based Jobseekers Allowance (JSA) Income-related Employments and Support ALlowance (ESA) Income Support Working Tax Credit (your assessed household income needs to be less than 15,276 per year (amount subject to change) Housing Benefit Council Tax Benefit (excluding the 25% single person reduction) Pension Credit - Guaranteed only You are studying for your first full Level 2 qualification, whatever your age. You are aged 19-24 on the 31st of August prior to the start of your course and studying for your first full Level 3 qualification, whatever your age.
