Course Description

The MA in Archaeology and Heritage is a distance-learning part-time MA primarily aimed at those already working within or with other experience of archaeology, heritage or CRM. Students on the course come from north America and elsewhere as well as the UK. It comprises four taught modules in Landscape Archaeology Planning and Management of Archaeological Projects Archaeology of Standing Buildings and Interpretation and Presentation of the Archaeological Heritage, plus a 15,000 word research dissertation. There are three starting dates each year (February and May as well as October), and although flexible, you may expect to spend up to 10-12 hours a week on the course. Our basic entry requirement for the MA is a first degree in archaeology or cognate subject, but full-time professional experience in a relevant field may be taken as equivalent. If you have a degree in another subject you can take 40 credits from our introductory courses which would normally gain you entry to the MA. Start Dates February, May or October each year.
