Course Description

The Communication Culture and Media MA by Research, MA(Res) enables you to devise a programme of research and independent study in a specific area of enquiry within the broad fields of Communication, Culture and Media. Your specific topic will be self-defined and then negotiated and supported by a supervisory team. You will study up to 36 credits worth of taught Masters level modules from the CCM Postgraduate Programme, primarily research methods and possibly other relevant subject specific modules, depending on qualifications and subject expertise. A broad range of research topics can be accommodated, including: advertising, applied communications, commodity consumption, communications management, cultural identity, cultural industries, digital media, equality issues, film, gender, globalisation, global communications, information and communication technologies, information design, print and broadcast journalism, lens-based media, multimedia forms, media and communication pedagogy, media and cultural policy, media production and video.
