Course Description

This programme combines the internationally recognised research and teaching strengths of the Department of English with the University?s highly reputable Surrey Business School, accredited by AACSB International ? the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The programme is designed to equip you with a critical understanding of communication in contemporary international marketing contexts, in order to be able to address the market needs of the international business environment. It is designed for students who have completed a degree in management studies, cultural studies, marketing, business organisation, humanities or the social sciences. You will gain the necessary knowledge and skills to be able to seek employment in a very wide variety of multinational andor international organisations. In particular the programme will prepare you for a career in advertising, international marketing management, media and public relations You will take six compulsory modules and two optional modules covering a wide range of disciplines including: communication studies, management, international business, and cultural studies. If you are continuing to Masters stage, you will also take a module in Research Methods to prepare for the dissertation element. Some of our past students have undertaken the following careers: competitor analyst for a private company business associate investment manager in a Chinese government-run company responsible for seeking overseas investment.
