Course Description

In an increasingly competitive world the International Business Law LLM provides students with the opportunity to critically analyse and evaluate the laws governing business and international business relationships. The course is suited to law graduates who wish to specialise in international business law, or graduates in business related disciplines with some legal knowledge seeking an international business perspective.

Overview

Courses are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect new developments and the requirements of the profession, together with the needs of industry and new legislative and other changes. The modules below are an example of those undertaken for those who start the course in September.

This course includes the Professional Development Module. Each of the participating postgraduate courses have an individually tailored version of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Professional Development module.

With professional experience option

The ‘professional experience’ opportunity enables you to apply in semester 1 for optional professional experience typically 11 months long, extending the duration of your Masters to 24 months. The professional experience provides an opportunity for you to develop expertise and experience in your chosen field with the aim of enhancing your employability upon graduation.

Please note that the optional professional experience modules incur an additional tuition fee of £4,000. Professional experience opportunities may also be subject to additional costs, visa requirements being met, subject to availability and/or competitive application. Professional experience opportunities are not guaranteed but you will benefit from the support of our employability and placements team in trying to find and secure an opportunity.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should hold a good honours degree in a relevant academic discipline. Applications from candidates with relevant experience will be considered on an individual basis. English as a Foreign Language: IELTS 6.5

A good undergraduate degree. This course is aimed primarily at law graduates, legal practitioners (solicitors and barristers) from the UK and other jurisdictions, and business graduates with some knowledge of law.
