Course Description

We humans are told every day by the newspapers and television how important it is that we have our five a day, eat a balanced diet and avoid additives. We listen and follow their advice. But do we always stop and think about whether or not our dogs are getting all the nutrition they need from their food? How healthy would we be if we scoffed down mixed up leftovers and bits of meat fat and rind after every meal? Dogs need the same attention to health and nutrition as we do. A poor diet can lead to illness, weight gain and bad behaviours, as well as many other problems and issues. With so many choices available in pet stores, all claiming to be the one you need to meet your dog needs, how do you really know what to feed your dog? This course aims to teach everyday dog owners how to maintain a healthy, balanced lifestyle for their dogs, as well as offering a good foundation knowledge for anyone looking to progress into a canine nutrition field of work. The course covers subjects such as : B asic canine health Feeding your dog Checking your dog?s health Dog anatomy Essential nutrition and exercise Diet and behaviour Seniors and puppies As well as many other essential aspects to dog health and nutrition
