Course Description

Mathematics GCSE - One-year course The one-year AQA course will be of use to those students who need to obtain a GCSE grade C in Maths. The course is modular, and students will study Money Management and Number, Statistics and Probability, Algebra, and Shape and Space. Students are prepared for examinations via textbooks, revision material and frequent interim testing. Software packages are also available to enhance student understanding. Students are required to have a scientific calculator - the Casio FX-82SX is recommended. Careers and Further Studies A GCSE grade C in Maths or above is a prerequisite for many Advanced Level courses. It is also essential for certain careers and is wellregarded by the majority of potential employers. General Entry Requirements It is expected that students pursuing a programme of GCSE courses will have already achieved a grade C in at least three GCSE subjects and an average GCSE points score of 3.5.
