Course Description

The course covers a wide and varied range of topics including: Safety Incident management. Roles First aid aims. First aid guidelines UK. Accident procedures (primary secondary survey). The training course will also cover the following: Safe airway treating collapse. Vital signs observations. Resuscitation. Choking management. Control of bleeding, (major and minor). Shock management. As the first aid is intended for outdoor adventurous activities, we will spend time indoors and outdoors undertaking practical exercises covering: Prioritisation exercises and reviews. Introduction to Illness. Outdoor first aid kits and safety equipment. Suitable for Duke of Edinburgh Award participants and members of outdoor activity clubs, forestry workers, estate workers, environmental scientists etc. Outdoor First Aid Emergency Action Unit 1, exceeds the current recommendations for existing Appointed Persons status, and the 2009 Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW), qualification.
