Course Description

Course Content The Level 2 Certificate is designed for employees new to the profession or for students at secondary or in further education. It provides a broad understanding of logistics and transport. This can be taken as a full qualification or as unit based learning. What does the course cover? The course provides the underpinning knowledge of logistics theory and the application of this theory. To achieve the new Level 2 qualification, candidates must study and pass two mandatory units and two option units. Introduction to Logistics Introduction to Customer Service and Marketing Introduction to Freight Transport Services Introduction to Passenger Transport Services Introduction to Warehousing and Inventory Introduction to Purchasing Introduction to Planning and Operation of Freight Transport Introduction to Planning and Operating of Passenger Transport How is the qualification assessed? The Level 2 Certificate is knowledge-based and will be assessed by either the Institute Assessment Route (examinations) or Centre Assessment Route (Centre devised assessment) depending on your chosen Centre. For the Institute Assessment Route, each unit is assessed by means of a 30 question examination, split 50/50 by multi-choice and short answer questions.
