Course Description

This one-day course gives participants an overview of the key principles involved in questionnaire design. It is a highly participatory course combining presentations and workshops that provide hands-on experience of designing questionnaires and survey questions. The course assumes that you have already decided that a questionnaire is the most appropriate method of data collection, though it does cover when and why it is appropriate to use a questionnaire. A general familiarity with quantitative research methods is assumed but it is not necessary to have experience of using these methods. Members of NatCen's Questionnaire Development and Testing (QDT) Hub, a sub-unit of the Survey Methods Unit (SMU), will deliver the course.
