The courseis aimed at health professionals who are interested in the backgound and principles of shamanism and how this can be incorporated into professional practice. The course is presented by a facilitator who is a Creativity Coach, Art Therapist and Performance Artist. What topics will we cover? Shamanistic principles such as: - soul retrival - the shamanistic journey, - the role of arts in shamanistic practice. How we as health professionals learn from this ancient wisdom. By the end of this course you should be able to: - know the core priciples of shamanism - understand the culture and background of shamanism - relate any knowledge of shaminism and apply apropriately in professional health practice. What level is the course and do I need any particular skills? This course is for health professionals who wish to know and appreciate how shamanism can have a place in their practice. You will need to be able to discuss ideas an concepts openly and enjoy learning new approaches. How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class? The course will include tutor talk, visual presentations, case material and an opportunity to participate in a shamistic journey. Handouts will also be used. You are encouraged to continue finding out morre about the subject if you feel motivated to do so. Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring? None. It is useful to bring notepad and pen to take notes. Do I need to have an interview before I can enrol? No. What feedback will I get? You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made. How will I be able to give my views on the course? Please complete the evaluation form at the end of your course. These are monitored and help us to continually improve our courses.
