Course Description

We encounter the world through our senses and the sensations we experience. This stimulates our thoughts and emotions. While under pressure, we instinctively push our sensory experience away, and get caught up in our thoughts. If we do this over a period of time, we can lose touch with our direct, moment-to-moment experience of daily life. Life can simply pass us by, and we become imprisoned by our moods. The techniques taught in MBSR help us develop balanced, on-going attention to what is happening, including the mind's perceptions and reactions to it all. This helps us be less hard on ourselves and others, and is proven to reduce stress. Please bring a blanket, mat and cushion for comfort. No strenuous exercise is involves, and no special clothing is needed. Participation in this class gives ?10 off the full Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction class that starts at the end of April 2011.
