Course Description

Of all the hands-on healing therapies, massage therapy involves the most extensive use of the hands and arms making them the most common injury sites for massage therapists. Sports and Deep tissue therapists are even at a greater risk of injury due to the extreme and excessive pressure placed on the joints of their hands, wrists and shoulders whilst carrying out each treatment. This workshop will help you learn to balance the work you give clients with self-care, helping you extend the life of your massage career. This workshop will cover the following: Learn how to recognise the early warning signs of injury Understand the injury process Teach you safe practical techniques and other tips to help reduce the chance of injury Learn exercises and stretches to help improve your strength and fitness and avoid injury The most common injuries sustained by massage therapists Prerequisites: You must be a practicing massage therapist to attend this workshop CPPD = 5 points 9:30am ? 6:00pm (including refreshment breaks and lunch) Places are limited to a maximum of 4 so early booking is advisable.
