Infection Control Certificate Level 2 Overview This programme has been developed as a distance learning package and is suitable for care assistants, nursery assistants, cleaners and managers who work within a care environment. The programme is accredited and certificated by NCFE and provides you with a nationally recognised award. The aims and objectives of this programme are to help underpin practical skills with theoretical knowledge. The approximate duration of this programme is 12 weeks. Description The programme consists of 3 units: Unit 1 Introducing and practising infection control Unit 2 Infection and infectious diseases Unit 3 Preventing the spread of infection Those who successfully complete the activities and case studies will receive a Certificate of Achievement. How will I be assessed? You will be required to complete a workbook containing questions and case studies for each unit. You will be provided with resource books to aid you and will also be required to reflect on your past or current health care experience. What does the course lead to? The programme supports progression to other courses, including NVQs in Health and Social Care (available at West Nottinghamshire College).
