Infection Control Aim: This course will explore the causes and routes of transmission of infection and will identify a range of preventative measures. Length of Study: 9 Weeks Entry Requirements: There are no formal entry requirements however it would be beneficial if the Candidate had basic competence in IT and the internet. Contents: Cleaning and Disinfecting Equipment, Cleaning the Environment, Dealing with Blood, Food handling, Infection Risks, Linen Management, Managing Waste, Personal Hygiene, Personal Protective Equipment, Safe Handling of Sharps, Standard and Additional Precautions, Sterilising, and Storing and Handling Sterile Stock. Study Method: Internet-based self-study. This is an online programme with assistance and support being provided through the College virtual learning environment.
