Course Description

IMI Motor Vehicle Servicing and Repair NVQ 2 This course follows the Institute of Motor Industry scheme and is aimed at those who want a career in the retail motor industry. It is designed to follow on from the Pre-Apprentice course and includes a substantial amount of work experience. Course content to include: Vehicle systems Theory and practice of basic unit removal and replacement Routine servicing Preparation of new and used vehicles for delivery Workshop health and safety Key Skills Duration: 1 year Entry Requirements: Successful completion of the IMI Pre-apprenticeship Certificate in Motor Vehicle (Level 1). Assessment: Through observation of your performance and a series of 1 hour Institute of Motor Industry online tests. Progression: Successful students can progress to the next level or seek employment in the industry where they may continue their training/studies on a day release basis. Additional information: In the past students have become involved in a number of activities including taking part in the Le Mans 24 Hour Kart Race.
