Course Description

The ILM Level 3 Award in Effective Management is a brand new ILM qualification. It is a four-day programme for new, existing and potential people managers and team leaders. There are no eligibility requirements. People gain their qualification through attendance of the learning modules and successful completion of work-based assignments and assessed skills practicals. Frequency Modules will take place every two weeks to allow learners time to reflect on each day and progress their practical work-based assignments before the next module. Assessment Methods Two work-based ILM assignments (M3.11 & M3.03) Two shorter reflective reviews (M3.10 & M3.26) with option to use centre-devised assessed skills practice for M3.26. Group tutorials will take place each day to clarify assessment requirements and we will offer support to learners with special requirements. Optional Extra We are able to offer learners the option to upgrade from this Award in Effective Management to the Award in First Line Management by completing the Solving Problems and Decision Making Unit (M3.01) Workbook and a further assignment. Making the most of diverse teams Understanding team types (Belbin) Team activity taking Belbin preferences into account Day 3 Managing Performance Defining the manager?s role in performance management Learning how to set SMART/ER objectives. Measuring performance against standards Questioning techniques and how to give and receive feedback. Tackling the most common performance issues ? skills practice Day 4 Planning Change in the Workplace Knowing how people react to change differently How to manage and communicate change effectively Continuous improvement techniques with practical exercises throughout the day How to plan change using Gantt charts
