Description : Hypnosis is a state of mind in which the subconscious temporarily becomes highly receptive to suggestion and change. At any time when our conscious mind is absorbed the subconscious mind is more open and vulnerable. . Hypnotherapy serves as a means of communication between the subconscious and conscious mind - between feeling and intellect. A hypnotherapist does not and cannot control another person's mind. The function of the hypnotherapist is to assist and coach in order to mobilise the beneficial powers of the subconscious. This course makes the techniques and the benefits of the hypnotic trance and self-hypnosis available to you. Successful completion of this training will permit students to apply for registration within The General Hypnotherapy Register (the GHSC's Registering Agency) at Preliminary Status. On completion of this course students can apply for membership to the. Society for Holistic Therapists and Coaches (SHTC) , a professional body who are dedicated to recognised standards of qualification and practice - students will also be able to use the initials 'SHTC' after their names. Practical Training Optional practical training is run through the. SHTC and is available upon request for this course. Practical training is not required in order to complete the course. Students will receive both the College Diploma and the ASET Award even if they do not complete the optional practical training.
