Course Overview The main aim of the course is to prepare students for the workplace while providing a nationally recognised qualification. Course Structure The programme is delivered over one academic year (36 weeks) at 15 Hrs per week(usually over 2? days) The following topics will be covered: Health, Safety &Hygiene Consultation Body Massage Aromatherapy Reflexology Indian Head Massage Interpersonal Skills Anatomy & Physiology Reception & SalonManagement Basic Nutrition Essential Skills(Literacy, Numeracy & ICT) Qualification Aims VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Aromatherapy, VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology, VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Indian Head Massage, VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Health, VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy & Physiology, VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Swedish Head Massage, Safety, Security and Employment Standards Level 3 Qualificationsare equivalent to the A level standard. AssessmentsExaminations Continual written and practical assessmentsassignments in both theory and practical aspects of the course. Practical assessmentsare carried out in a realistic work environment (RWE) on fee-payingclients. A portfolio of evidence iscompiled throughout the course and submitted for final verification. Cost Equipment If you are 19 years of age or over at the start of the course, the tuition fee's may be payable for?495 per year. However, you must be prepared to order and purchase the relevant kits in advance of unitmodule delivery in order not to delay your progress and achievement. Free tuition is available to those in receipt of certain means tested benefits or totheir un-waged dependants. As part of the Entry Requirements it is important to note that, as this is aservice industry, students must meet the demands of the course which include:good interpersonal and communication skills, personal hygiene, healthrequirements and positive personal attributes. Start Date September 2010 Requirement 4GCSE's at grade D-G or equivalent. Successful College interview. Target testing (attainment relating to level). Satisfactory schoolcollege report or references. A knowledge of and interest in holistic therapy is essential and will be assessed at interview.
