HNC WORKING WITH COMMUNITIES Campus: East Dunbartonshire Campus Duration: Part-Time 2 Years Weekdays: Not Specified Course Information: The HNC Working with Communities is an exciting and challenging course which enables you to gain a nationally recognised qualification. It enables you to use the theory you have learned during the course to reflect on and develop your practice in a work placement. There are 10 core credits: Preparing to Work with Community Groups (1 credit), Accountability for and Management of Resources (1 credit), Social Science Approaches (2 credits), Principles and Practice (2 credits), Learning Approaches (1 credit), Workplace Practice (2 credits), Graded Unit (1 credit), and 2 further credits from specialist units: Adult Learning (2 credits), Working with Young People (2 credits, Capacity Building (2 credits) and Promoting Health (2 credits). Further Study: Entry into 2nd year of degree programmes such as the BA in Community Learning and Development. Career Opportunities: Employment in the voluntary sector or as a Community Education Assistant in the public sector.
