HNC Early Education and Child Care This course is available to study in Elgin You can study this course Full Time | Infill Aims of the Course To enable students to develop the knowledge,understanding and skills required to gain employment at Practitioner level in Child Care. This course is designed to meet the needs that have arisen as a result of the increased variety of jobs in the Child Care sector Course Contents Units will include: Working in an Early Education and Child Care Setting Children and Young People's Rights: Provision, Protection and Participation Theoretical Approaches to Development and Learning Early Education and Child Care: Graded Unit Curriculum and Assessment in an Early Education and Child Care Setting Working with Children Graded Unit Duration of the Course Full time - 1 year (includes 60 days on placement.) Part time - over 2 years (includes 60 days on placement.) Progression Further study may include BA Child and Youth Studies, B.Ed. or social work degrees. Employment at Practitioner level in the Child Care sector. Workers can then register with SSSC. UCAS Information Course Code - 013X Short form of Course Title - HNCCE Entry Requirements 2 Highers at Grade C or above or successful completion of NC Group Award Early Education and Child Care. Experience in Child Care either in a paid or voluntary capacity, sufficient to allow an understanding of Child Care and education commensurate with work of this nature. Applications are encouraged from candidates who do not possess formal qualifications but who have appropriate experience and skills. Applicants must demonstrate that they have the potential to meet the academic demands of the course and that they have the personal qualities and commitment necessary for a career in Child Care. Please note that students on this course are required to complete a Disclosure Scotland enhanced check.
