HNC ANIMAL CARE - FLEXIBLE Who is this course aimed at? This course aims to give you a deeper understanding of Animal Care and associated Industries. It will take you to a level where there are many interesting job opportunities such as SSPCA, Dog Wardens, Boarding Establishments and Veterinary Practices. The excellent level of training offered on this course means the HNC Animal Care is well respected amongst many employers as well as universities. If you are unable to attend on a full-time basis the College can offer part-time study, one day a week over two years. For those of you who just wish to brush up on particular skills, it may be possible to undertake individual units. Entry on to the programme will be based on an interview and a demonstration of written communication skills. How and where will I study? The course is mainly College-based. One year full-time or two years part-time. Opportunities to study individual subjects are also available. What will I study on this course? Following on from skills learned at National Certificate level you will gain a deeper understanding of key issues such as Nutrition, Health & Disease, Animal Behaviour, Anatomy & Physiology, Handling, First Aid and Welfare. Job and progression routes? SSPCA, Dog Wardens, Boarding Establishments, Veterinary Practices. HND year two at Angus College or progression into Higher Education e.g studying for a degree in Veterinary Nursing.
