HNC: CIVIL ENGINEERING Level: 4-5 Location: Bordesley Green Campus Times: FT/PT Duration: 2 years Are there any entry requirements? This course is ideal if you are a mature student. To enrol on this course you will need to have a National Certificate/Diploma in Construction or Civil Engineering, or an equivalent qualification. However, entry can be made at the discretion of the College based on accredited prior learning. What will I study? You will study through a series of academic modules, which include an element of group work, tutorials, lectures, presentations and a large amount of self-study. You will need to pass 10 units to achieve the full certificate. Civil Engineering Technology Maths for technologists Structural Mechanics Basics of structural design Site surveying Structural analysis Hydraulics Land surveying Contractural procedures (civil) Fundamentals of geo-technics Project What can I do after this course? On successful completion of this course you could progress onto professional level careers in the Construction Industry or study for a Degree in Civil Engineering. This course also allows entry onto professional membership courses e.g. Chartered Institute of Civil Engineers.
