The Hertfordshire MBA is distinguished by its flexibility in content and delivery. The course is broken up into four stages: Stage 1: Core Modules ? Strategic Management Perspectives ? Managing Financial Value Drivers ? People Management ? Innovation Through Strategic Marketing Stage 2: Core Modules ? Collective Enterprise ? Leadership and Change Stage 3: Elective Modules ? Complexity, Creativity and Change ? Appraising Organisational Performance ? Entrepreneurship and Enterprise ? Managing and Working Across Cultures ? Project Management: A Strategic Approach ? Strategic Modelling Stage 4 ? Applied Individual Project The course culminates in a Management Research Project. Managers are increasingly expected to commission, evaluate and disseminate the outcomes of research in their work, and the project provides a vehicle for the development of such skills. Learning from across the course is integrated in the pursuit of a programme of research on a strategic issue of topical and practical interest. This will be in the organisation or industry in which you are employed, or one well known to you. Work on the project and the underpinning research for it is supported by dedicated learning sessions and a personal tutor who will supervise and give feedback on your work. Our teaching and learning methods enable the development and sharing of skills and knowledge and are built on an expectation of active involvement in the course. A participative style is used throughout to enable you to learn from each other as well as from teaching staff. Experiential learning is central to our teaching philosophy. There is a considerable emphasis on the utilisation of theory and knowledge to make sense of your own and fellow participants? experiences at work. Case study material is widely used alongside case histories developed by fellow participants.
