Health & Social Care (HNC) The BTEC Higher National Certificate in Health & Social Care is a specialist vocational programme with a strong related work emphasis. The qualification provides a thorough grounding in the key concepts and practical skills required in the sector with national recognition by employers allowing progression into employment or to degree. Contents Learning Style College Based Assessment Method Assessment Enrolment Method All learners must complete an application form and will be invited to an information and interview session in July. Subject to a successful interview and offer of a place learners may then enrol week beginning 16th July or 28th - 31st August. Entry Requirements: You need to have a related level 3 qualification such as: BTEC National CertificateDiploma, AVCEGNVQ in an appropriate vocational area, Access to Higher Education Certificate or other related level 3 qualification. OR in certain circumstances extensive work experience (paid andor unpaid) andor achievement of a range of professional qualifications in their work sector. Current experience of working within a Health & Social Care organisation is essential in order to meet the assessment criteria in many of the units. Work experience may be through employment or voluntary but must provide the opportunity to demonstrate the skills and understanding expected of a health & care worker and for these to be observed in the workplace by an expert witness. Work experience must be organised by the learner and be in place before the start of the course.
