Health and Social Care - BTEC Level 2 Diploma - EDEXCEL What's On The Course? The BTEC First Diploma is a practical, work related course. The course is equivalent to four GCSE grades A* - C and introduces you to the employment area you have chosen and also provides a basis to go on to a more advanced qualification. You will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on workplace situations and will have placement in the workplace during the course. This course is made up of six units - two core units and four specialist units. Core units are: Communication and individual rights within the health and social care sectors Individual needs within the health and social care sectors Specialist units are: Vocational experience in a health or social care setting Human lifespan development Creative and therapeutic activities in health and social care Cultural diversity in health and social care What Can I Do Next? Areas of employment after completing the BTEC First Diploma in Health and Social Care are Registered Care Homes, Hospitals and Primary Health Care Trusts, Nursing Homes and Health Centres. There are opportunities to progress from this course to other courses such as the BTEC National Diploma in Health and Social Care.
