University of Central Lancashire

Masters Degree , Uncategorised

Course Description

Course Details Attendance: Full-time, or part-time. Duration: Full-time 1 year part-time 2 (or more) years Total number of modules: 9 Course Outline Our Graduate Diploma aims to develop an understanding of psychology to a professional level in graduates from a discipline other than psychology. Thus enabling those who do not have a first degree in psychology to be able to study a professional (chartered route) Psychology masters degree. This conversion course enables graduates to be eligible for recognition from the British Psychological Society to the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC), which is a necessity for professional training in psychology. The course consists of nine modules (180 credits) which cover a range of modules from the second and third years of the BSc (Hons) Psychology course, including a double module research project. It retains an element of choice to allow students to match the course to their interests and to their current and professional activities or career aspirations. Many graduates progress onto MSc courses both at UCLan and elsewhere. Students who have not covered any psychology in their first degree will either be required to complete our one week full-time Psychological Skills course or study 60 credits of degree level psychology prior to entry onto the Graduate Diploma.
