Spa Therapy - NVQ Level 3 Number of Weeks 34 Hours per Week 14 Who is the programme for? This programme is designed for students who have already completed an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in beauty therapy. They must have excellent interpersonal skills, a good knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and be able to prove a high level of practical competence in specified procedures. Good references and attendance are essential. How long does it take to complete? 1 year What qualifications do I need? What is the programme structure? Not Applicable Key Skills If you are aged 16-18 and following this course as a full time student your programme will include tutorials, enrichment activities and the development of key skills. Key skills are recognised and valued by employers and universities and are an important part of your course as they will help to improve your performance and confidence at college and in the future. Are there any special facilities for the programme? A beauty salon and wet area fitted with some of the latest equipment, which is open to the public from November to June. How is the programme assessed? Assessment is through formal written examinations, practical observation and written assignments. Several hours of homework is required per week (practical & written). Will there be any extra costs involved? Students will be expected to an purchase uniform, enclosed flat shoes (to be sourced yourself), and a selected kit. The course will cost in the region of ?250.This cost includes a compulsory visit to a day spa for induction and a visit to the thermal spa in Bath. This will help develop your knowledge and understanding of the Spa Industry. An approximate breakdown of course costs ? Uniform ?52.50 (does not include shoes) ?
