Course Description

What you will study Units from E.A.L. Performing Engineering Operations at Level 2. The number of units can vary but it would be expected that you satisfy the Apprenticeship framework and include elements from mechanical, electrical, fabrication and welding. Some of the optional units will include: fitting, machining, wiring and testing electrical circuits, maintaining electrical equipment, welding, sheet metal, gas cutting and thick plate fabrication. You will be expected to feed into a day release course appropriate to your entry qualifications, ideally one of the National Certificate courses. You may also be expected to attain Functional Skills Level 2. Your Course Structure Classroom: 20%; Practical: 80% How you will learn This is a practical course with some classroom based sessions to cover the theory behind the practice. How you will be assessed By questionnaires, assignments, phase tasks, observation and final assessment for practical tasks covered. Attendance One year (36 weeks) full-time, 9 am to 4.45 pm. Attendance will be required over some evenings.
