Motor Vehicle and Manufacturing Entry Level Motor Vehicle and Manufacturing Entry Level 1 Year Programme Introduction This is a one-year full time programme. The course is practically based allowing time for new skills to be developed and existing skills to be strengthened. The course is for school leavers or mature students who have not yet met the requirement for Level 1. This programme will give you a good background, gain skills and knowledge in Motor Vehicle / Manufacturing and in particular, Workshop skills. Entry Requirements What will I study? City and Guilds 3901 Motor Vehicle (General Maintenance Pathway) Students will study a variety of Motor vehicle Maintenance and Repair, understand Vehicle Layouts and Systems and carry out a range of Maintenance / Safety Checks on a Motor Vehicle as per the City and Guilds standards. OCR National Skills Profile Manufacturing Mod 1 Find out about Manufacturing Mod 2 Select and find out about a Job Role in Manufacturing Industry Mod 3 Plan and Prepare to Manufacture a Product Mod 4 Work with Others to Manufacture a Product Mod 5 Check a Manufactured Product for Compliance You will also gain Basic Skills qualifications at Entry Level 3 Communication - You will be able to understand other people by listening and reading, and use language to present information and ideas by speaking and writing. Number You will be able to work with numbers, measurements and charts and graphs. Key Skills Key skills are the skills that are commonly needed for success in a range of activities in education and training, work and life in general. Working with Others Level 1 How will I be assessed? A range of methods are used to assess this programme, these include projects, assignments and coursework. There are exams in the Basic Skills. You will have a Portfolio to keep your assessed work in. On completion you will receive a certificate indicating all modules achieved. Career Prospects These qualifications will give you skills that are required within the Industry. On the successful completion of this course you may progress on to the Level 1 Motor Vehicle and Motorcycle Studies. Materials and Text Book The College library has an extensive lending and reference book stock, in addition to videos, and journals. The wearing of Safety Boots/Shoes and overalls is Compulsory in the workshop. Fees Under 19 as at 31st August Free. Over 19 as at 31st August and enrolling on a full programme of study- 470 or 430 if paid in full at the time of enrolment. Fees for studying any individual subject as a day student available on request. If you are in receipt of a qualifying means tested benefit, or you are an unwaged dependant thereof, the fee is reduced to 100. No further reduction is available on this reduced fee. All fees quoted are for British/ EEA Citizens with settled status who have been resident in an EEA country for the last 3 years or have exceptional circumstances or exceptional leave to remain. If you are in any doubt as to your status please ask for advice on enrolment.
