MECHANICAL ENGINEERING SVQ LEVEL II PERFORMING ENGINEERING OPERATIONS (PEO) - FULL TIME Who is this course aimed at? An excellent course for those looking towards a career in manufacture. The engineering facilities within the College provide an excellent starting point for you to develop your skills. How and where will I study? The Engineering Department at the main Arbroath campus. What will I study on this course? Undertaken in well equipped workshops, this course will cover both the theory and the workshop practice at craft level. A lot of hands-on practical learning will take place in the areas of Manual & Computerised Numerical Control (CNC) Machining, CNC Programming, Dimensional Control and Draughtsmanship. On successful completion of the programme you will achieve an SVQ Level 2 and eight National Certificate modules. Job and progression routes? Progression on to higher level courses is possible depending on appropriate results. The course may, if you are successful in gaining employment, be used as the foundation stage of the Modern Apprenticeship. Job opportunities may exist as an Apprentice Engineer, Machine Operator, CNC Operator.
