Manufacturing Engineering, BTEC National Diploma - Level 3 (EDEXCEL) Qualification Obtained: BTEC National Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering About this Course: Course Content: This is a broad-based programme that gives you the chance to learn about many aspects of manufacturing engineering. The course includes the following units: Manufacturing Systems and Technology; Integrated Project; Engineering Design; Fabrication and Welding Techniques; Turning and Milling, CNC Machining; Computer-Aided Design; Robotics. Additional NVQ Manufacturing qualifications are also offered as part of this programme. Entry Requirements: 4 GCSEs at grade C or above, including Maths and Science or success at First Diploma level or equivalent. Assessment Methods: Assessment: This involves continuous individual subject assessment. There are no external examinations. Progression: Your Future: You have the choice of pursuing an Engineering Apprenticeship through the College or studying on one of our Higher National Diploma qualifications; choose from Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering. Course Options: Core units: Business systems Communications Design and build project Mathematics Mechanical principles Possible specialist units: Health and safety Engineering design Materials technology Engineering drawing Computer-Aided Design Secondary machining processes (turning and milling) Welding techniques CNC machining Industrial robotics Further mechanical principles Computer systems engineering Software design You may also take the Performing Engineering Operations NVQ with this. Funding Information Most students do not have to pay full tuition fees and many students have their course fees waived completely depending on their age and circumstances. Repayable and non-repayable grants and loans are also available for higher education students. When a course code contains 'EC' this indicates that it is an economic course which in most cases does not attract course fee waivers. Where courses are run over more than one year, the tuition fee shown is for one year only. Fees for subsequent years are subject to review.
