Introductory CertificateDiploma in Health and Social Care - Malvern Level Level 1 Duration 1 Year Description BTEC Introductory CertificateDiploma in Health and Social Care This is a 1 year course on offer at the Malvern campus. What qualifications do I need? There are no formal entry requirements and all applicants will be interviewed. What's involved? Four units must be completed to achieve the Certificate and eight units must be completed to achieve the Diploma. The core subjects include: * Starting Work in Health and Social Care * Working in Health and Social Care * Developing Skills in Health and Social Care The specialist subjects include: * Looking after Children * Images of People * Exploring Local Services * Social Responsibility at Work * Financial Management What qualifications do I get? On successful completion of the course students will achieve the BTEC Introductory CertificateDiploma in Health and Social Care. How will I be studying? You will learn by completing projects and assignments. You will also be developing the skills you need to start a career or progress onto a Level 2 Health and Social Care or Childcare course. Are any trips or visits involed? Visits will be organised to different types of care environments. What about assessments? Students are assessed continuously through assignments and each completed unit is graded. Any other programmes available? Opportunities to gain basic skills in numeracy and literacy are available. Where now? The most common progression route is for students to move onto the Level 2 course in Health and Social Care or Childcare.
